Communion in the Age of Coronavirus

Communion in the Age of Coronavirus

covid-19

[19/03/20] Update:

Change to The Delivery Terms and Conditions of Carriage

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) - Effective March 14th 2020

In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, and in order to protect the safety of both consignees and delivery drivers, we have temporarily relaxed the requirement of signiture upon delivery and will be adopting the NO CONTACT DELIVERY PRACTICE.

Consignees will not be required to personally sign the ePOD device or any hard copy document, but will be required to provide their name verbally to the delivery driver whereby the driver will include this on the delivery record. Whereby a customer refuses to provide their name, the consignment will not be left with them but fall under the ‘refused goods’ process.

Following a significant increase in the demand for Disposable Communion Cups, Cup Fillers and Portable Communion Sets. We wanted to reach out to reassure all our customers that we have stock readily available and to confirm that we are continuing to take orders and dispatch to our customers daily.

As a valued customer, we are also writing to inform you about the steps Frank Wright Mundy are taking in response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Our priority is the health and wellbeing of both our customers and staff.

As a business, we are adhering to the strictest of Government and World Health Organisation advice and protocols by our local authority. Our employees are fully aware of the current requirements and are implementing the highest levels of hygiene standards whilst handling our products and shipping orders.

Following the Governments’ announcement yesterday (16th March 2020) we have been told that everyone should stop non-essential contact with others. This is particularly important for people over 70 and those with underlying health conditions and pregnant women. This will inevitably affect church attendance; leading to churches playing an even more vital role in caring both pastorally and spiritually for their community; particularly those too frightened now to go out, those in high risk categories and those who may be living alone and are isolated from their families.

Coronavirus Communion Ware

The products Frank Wright Mundy have available for immediate dispatch will enable the continuation of Communion Services for those able to attend with the use of our Individual Disposable Cups or Glass Cups aided by a Cup Filler. The cup filler allows the cups to be filled in the tray without touching the rim of the individual cup. We would strongly suggest disposable gloves for food preparation be worn by the communion stewards whilst preparing the communion tray.

Now that wider social distancing measures are being actively promoted it may be that more stringent social distancing measures are implemented in the not too distant future which may include suspending church services altogether. It will then become more crucial than ever for church leaders to visit those most vulnerable to the effects of isolation at home.

If members of the congregation are not displaying any symptoms, it may still be possible to offer communion within their home, following the stated hygiene protocols. We have a number of Portable Communion Sets to suit all budgets which would enable communion to be delivered in a safe and hygienic setting.

We do not know how long COVID-19 will impact our daily lives and we will have to learn to adapt accordingly. If we can assist you and your congregation to adapt the way communion is delivered within your church or within your homes, please do not hesitate to contact us at sales@frankwrightmundy.co.uk or using our enquiry form. .

Please put your health first and follow the Governments advice to take all necessary precautions. Our thoughts and prayers go out to anyone of you already affected. We thank you for your continued loyalty.
