Find here a collection of our most frequently asked questions concerning Communion Ware, Non-Alcoholic Communion Wine, and Order Details and Payment put together for your convenience. If you have any further questions you can make enquiries online at any time and we will endeavour to respond promptly.

Do you have a catalogue?

We do not provide a physical catalogue in order for us to cut down on our paper usage and avoid circulating prices that are out of date, keeping our catalogue strictly online.

In some cases it is possible for us to produce a small brochure of selected products with reference numbers so that you may ring up for an up-to-date price and we can also provide example photographs of products via email if we have been asked to make specific recommendations.

You may print out pages of our website to use as a physical copy of our online catalogue if required.

Do you sell sterling silver items?

We do not stock silver items, however we are able to provide a quote for any items to be made in silver. Please contact us for more information.

How do I remove the patina from my pewter ware? How should I best clean my silverware set?

We have thorough information on how best to care for communion ware here.

Do you offer gluten free altar bread?

Yes. We have recently started stocking altar breads that have been approved by the Coeliac Society UK. All information on these wafers can be found on the product description page found here

Different quantities and sizes of gluten free wafers are also available.

Do you refurbish communion items?

In some cases. If you purchased the item from ourselves we will usually offer to have it refurbished free of charge if the damage or wear has occurred within 2 years of purchase.

If any goods you have purchased need to be refurbished or if you believe your item is faulty please see our full returns policy and contact us at sales@frankwrightmundy.co.uk to inform us of the fault.

Shipping and Returns

We will query any damage that appears to have come from misuse and any subsequent refurbishments will incur a fee.

What is the cost of having my item engraved?

Engravings are quoted on a case by case basis taking into consideration the piece to be engraved and the number of characters you require. Some items are not possible to engrave as they are too small or there is no suitable place for engraving.

If you specify a font and the placement of the text, we will endeavour to meet your requirements as closely as possible.

On occasions that the engraving will not fit in the requested space we may suggest an alternative that meets your needs.

If you need any help deciding the placement and layout we will endeavour to make a suitable recommendation and send a draft for approval.

Do I have to buy a whole set?

No. In most cases all of the items found in our sets are listed individually, however if you would like a communion set modified or would like to buy a single item from a set that you cannot find available separately on our store, let us know and we will do our best to arrange a quote for you.

Do you buy church ware?

If you have communion items that you believe are in a fit condition for resale we may offer you a price for sale or return.

We are not looking to resell any large church furniture.

Do you have a larger pyx or container for wafers?

Yes. For those of you who require a greater supply of communion wafers we offer a Hospital Pyx. This is a larger pyx intended for transporting approximately 40-50 wafers, or, if this is still too small, we offer a silver plated communion wafer box which has a much larger capacity than our pyx.

If you merely need somewhere to store your communion wafers once opened, we offer a glass storage jar that will suit your needs.

Do you supply gifts? Ordination, Christmas or Birthday...

We have a category dedicated to Ordination and In Memoriam gifts which may provide some inspiration and we also sell sterling silver cufflinks which may serve as a beautiful gift for any occasion.

Do you offer a bag or case that will fit...?

If you have purchased a selection of our communion items it is likely we are able to supply a case that will house those items.

We do have several cases available and their detailed measurements can be found on our website so that you can determine if your own items may fit. If you require any assistance in making this decision, do not hesitate to get in touch.

Do you have anything to match my set?

We have a large selection of Silverplated and Pewter Items that will compliment most sets. If you purchased the items from ourselves we likely have other items that will accompany your set perfectly. However if you do not see something which may be suitable you can always get in touch by phone or email to make an enquiry and we will advise as best we can.

Non-Alcoholic Communion Wine

What is the difference between Brand No. 1 and Brand No. 5 Non-Alcoholic Communion Wine?

Brand No. 1 is a blend of the juices of some of the finest grapes in the world chosen for their colour. It has a lighter red shade and a rich sweet flavour.

Brand No. 5 is from the juice of the Muscatel grape. It has a great body, a deep red colour as a result of crushing the whole grape and retains the rich fruity flavour of the Muscatel grape.

We offer samples of both brands on request for a small charge of £10 which is refundable on orders over £60.00, less postage. - (as of Jan 2022)

How long does the Communion wine keep once opened? What are the best storage practices?

Our wine will keep for a year once opened providing you take care to store it in a cool dark place and ensure no unused wine is returned to the bottle after use as this may lead to contamination that can adversely affect the lifespan of your wine.

What are the antiseptic properties of Frank Wright Mundy non-alcoholic wine?

Our products are produced from a grape concentrate but before allowing to ferment we add preservatives, which stops the fermentation but also gives it an antiseptic property, which is comparable to alcohol where a shared communion cup is used. It also gives it a keeping property, which we say is one year once opened and three years unopened so long as the wine is stored according to our guidelines (as outlined above).

Do you still supply the smaller 330ml bottles?

As of 2018 have stopped producing smaller bottles of our wine due to a lack of demand. For smaller quantities of wine see below.

Can I order less than a case/ just one bottle?

The high cost of carriage restricts the minimum we can deliver (this minimum is a case of 12 700ml bottles). However if you live locally you can pick up single bottles or a few cases at a reduced price from our office in Abergele.

If you require more than one case, please telephone ahead of any visit.

It is also a common practice to buy in conjunction with another local church, so it is worth checking to see if this would be an option in your area.

If neither of these options are suitable for your situation we have several stockists across the UK which we can provide contact details for.

Do you have a sugar-free/low-sugar wine?

Our Communion Wine is 15% including natural sugars. Unfortunately we do not currently produce a low sugar wine and have no immediate plans to produce one.

What is the difference between non-alcoholic and de-alcoholised wine and what does it mean?

Non-alcoholic wine is a beverage which has not been fermented, instead using a formula to produce a wine and as such does not have the capacity to contain alcohol.

De-alcoholised wine is wine that is produced through fermentation as normal but has subsequently had the alcohol content removed leaving it with less than 0.05% alcohol by volume which is the minimum alcohol content required to be considered alcohol free.

We produce Non-Alcoholic Communion Wine which has not been fermented and as such is completely alcohol free.

Do you sell a combined individual wine and wafer for communion?

No this is not an item Frank Wright Mundy stock. We sell boxes of 1000 Communion Wafers and smaller quantities of Gluten Free Altar Breads to complement our renowned Non Alcoholic Communion Wine sold in bottles of 700ml.

Our wine is perfect for smaller congregations post Coronavirus as even when opened our wine will keep for 12 months if stored out of direct sunlight in a cool environment. The wine does not need to be refrigerated once open. We encourage the use of our cup fillers to be used in the preparation of communion.

Order Details and Payment

When can I expect my order?

Orders for wine are usually processed the day your order is placed to be delivered by our outside carriers within 48 hours depending on location. This means that we are usually able to ship wine as quickly as the next day. However we do recommend allowing 10 working days before reporting a non-delivery to allow for adverse weather conditions preventing delivery, until roads can be safely navigated.

All other items are sent by Royal Mail 2nd class unless otherwise requested and are subject to the terms of the postal service except in cases where the item is very large or heavy in which case shipping services may vary.

Unfortunately in all cases as above we cannot specify a delivery day and/or time, however if you need the items before a specific date you can request special delivery at an additional charge which may be paid for by card over the phone.

You can find our full delivery schedule here.

What is the last order date for Christmas deliveries?

Our office closes on Friday 20th December 2019 and reopens on Thursday 2nd January 2020.

The last order date for Non-Alcoholic Communion Wine in UK Mainland is Friday 13th December.

In stock Communion Ware Items will be dispatched until 19th December. For urgent Christmas orders please enquire as to our other delivery services which require an additional Payment to guarantee a pre-Chrismas delivery.

Can I arrange delivery to...? Do you ship internationally?

We are able to quote Shipment Internationally for all our items apart from our Communion Wine. Please contact us at sales@frankwrightmundy.co.uk with details of the item and the postal/ZIP code for delivery.

Shipment of our Communion Wine is restricted to UK mainland and Northern Ireland due to the high cost of carriage for glass and liquids. For information with regards to any additional charges and restricted addresses you can see a full list of our delivery terms -here-
